8-2. Setting the End Mark Detection Function

Set the sensor according to the paper face printed with the end mark.

q

When paper has been placed on the paper feed tray A, turn the jog dial until “Sensor1 Set.” is displayed to detect end
marks at the top face, and press the jog dial to confirm the setting. To detect end marks at the bottom face, turn until
“Sensor2 Set.” is displayed, and press the jog dial to confirm the setting.

Turn the jog dial and display “Sensor1 on/off” or “Sensor2 on/off”, and press the jog dial to confirm the setting.

Turn the jog dial and display “On” at the left edge, and press the jog dial to confirm the setting.

NOTE

:

If there are end marks only on the top face, set “Sensor2 Set.” to “Off”. If there are end marks only on
the bottom face, set “Sensor1 Set.” to “Off”. If the setting remains at “On”, misdetection may occur.
If “Sensor1 Set.” and “Sensor2 Set.” are both set to “Off”, the end mark detection function will be
automatically set to “None”.

Select whether to use or not use the end mark detection function.

Turn the jog dial until “Mark Mode” is displayed, and press the jog dial to confirm the setting.

8. END MARK DETECTION FUNCTION

Select whether to use or not use the end mark detection function, and set the position and
processing method of the end mark if using the function.
To use the end mark detection function, turn the jog dial at the initial screen to display “Endmark
Set.”, and press the jog dial to confirm the setting.

Turn the jog dial and display “Count” or “Random” at the left edge, and press the jog dial to confirm the setting.
(If not using the end mark detection function, turn the jog dial to display “None” at the left edge, and press the jog dial.)

NOTE

:

To set the end mark detection function to “Count” or “Random”, either “Sensor1 Set.” or “Sensor2
Set.” must be set to “On”.
When the double-feed detection method is set to “Set”, the end mark detection function cannot be set to
“Random”.
When set to “Random”, the count of the number of processed sets will be displayed.
