Caution! Danger of accieent!
With the trimming device engaged, do not put
your fingers under the trimming knife.

When during the approach of the knife against the throat
plate insert edge there ocrrurs a
marked increase of noise, tighten slightly the screw (2) in
such a way, so that the knife, when being engaged,
approaches slightly in eliminating almost the noise and,
at the same time, there occurs no clearance between the
knife and the throat plate insert.
With an unsuitable setting or when tightening
insufficiently the screw (1), the knife, the throat
plate may be damaged or the trimming device may
function incorrectly.
5.5.2 Setting of the knife angle with regard to
the throat plate insert (crossing)
For setting the parallelism (crossing) of the knife and the throat
plate insert cutting edge there serves the wedge (1).
Caution! Danger of injury!
Switch off the main switch! Before starting the
setting operation, wait until the motor stops!
- Loosen slightly the screws (2) to loosen the trimming knife.
- Loosen the screw (3).
- Shift the wedge (1) upwards or downwards in such a way,
so that when tightening the screws (2), the knife is parallel
to the cutting edge of the throat plate insert. Exceptionally,
for some specific materials, a slight crossing of the knife
may be set, but this causes also an increased wear of the
knife and of the throat plate insert).
- Tighten the screw (3).
- Proceed to the setting of the knife, see Instruction manual,
par. 6.15.
When incorrectly setting the knife, the knife or
the throat plate insert may be damaged or,
eventually, a wrong function of the trimming
device may occur.
5.6 Setting of the microswitch of trimming device
motor switching-on
The microswitch of the trimming device motor switching-on
is to be switched on prior to its contact with the trimmed
material of the maximum thickness of 5 mm, when the knife is
in the bottom dead center of its oscillating movement.
Caution! Danger of injury!
Switch off the main switch! Before starting the
setting operation, wait until the motor stops!
- Remove the trimming device guard.
- Loosen the screws (1).
- Shift the microswitch (2) in such a way,. so that the trimming
device is engaged with the knife positioned 5 mm above the
throat plate insert in the bottom dead centre of the knife.
- Tighten the screws (1).
- Attach the trimming device guard.
