Setup
Turn on the XGPS10M
Press and hold the power button on the XGPS10M
for about 3 seconds. The lights on the device will
flash momentarily, and the blue light will continue
to flash indicating that the XGPS10M is ready for
pairing.
The battery in the XGPS10M is already partially
charged and the device should turn on the first
time you take it out of the box. If the device does
not turn on, please charge it from a USB source
before continuing - see
Charging
.
Pairing with your device
Pairing is the process connecting two devices over
Bluetooth to allow them to communicate. You will
need to go through the pairing process the first
time you use the XGPS10M with a new device.
Once the XGPS10M is paired with a device, the
two devices will remember their connection and
you will not need to repeat the pairing process.
When powered on, the XGPS10M will automati-
cally try to reconnect to the last device it was
paired with. Keep this in mind when trying to use it
with multiple devices: if you are having trouble get-
ting a second device to recognize the XGPS10M,
make sure the last device you used with the XG-
PS10M is turned completely off or is out of Blue-
tooth range.
The XGPS10M is very simple to use. There is a
one-time setup process to connect it to your tablet,
smartphone or laptop computer. Once this setup
process is completed, simply turn on the XG-
PS10M any time you want to use it.
To setup the XGPS10M with your device, you will
need to do two things:
• Set the mode switch on the XGPS10M for the
type of device you will be using.
• Turn on and pair the XGPS10M with the de-
vice you will be using.
Setting the mode switch
With the tip of a fine ballpoint pen, move the mode
switch to the proper position:
• If you are using the XGPS10M with an iPad,
iPod touch or iPhone slide the switch to the
right, away from the USB connector. (NOTE:
The XGPS10M ships from the factory with the
mode switch already in this position.)
• To use the XGPS10M with an Android device,
Windows device, or any model of laptop com-
puter move the mode switch to the left, towards
the USB connector.
