CHAPTER 5

SOFTWARE
INSTALLATION

In order to let the system board to work efficiently, a series of drivers have to install according
to the operating system used. The drivers are distributed by CD-ROM Title. Please refer to
the following section:

5.1

PCI IDE DRIVER INSTALLATION

Please refer to the README.TXT file in \DRIVERS\IDE directory for detail
installation procedures to be used in various kind of operation system (DOS,
Netware, Windows NT, OS/2, Windows 95, Windows 3.1).

5.2

PCI VGA DRIVER INSTALLATION

(1)

Set VGA Share Memory Size to “0.5MB”, “1MB”, “1.5MB”, “2MB”,
“2.5MB”, “3MB”, “3.5MB” or “4MB” in BIOS Setup to configure the
video memory size shared by the VGA controller.

(2)

Please refer to README.TXT file in each directory under
\DRIVERS\VGA for detail installation procedures to be used in various
kind of operation system.

5.3

SOUND DRIVER INSTALLATION

(I)

Windows 3.1
Run SETUP.EXE under \DRIVERS\SOUND\WIN31 for installation of
sound driver for Windows 3.1 system.

(II)

Windows 95

When Win95 system ask you “Please insert the disk labeled ‘Driver Disk’
and then click OK”. Click OK. In the “Copy files from” window, type
“D:\drivers\sound\win95”. The system will install the driver from CD-
Title.
