5 Installation

5.1

Installation requirements

5.1.1

General

An accurate installation of all components is a basic requirement for a properly functioning
device. The following installation instructions must be adhered to.

5.1.2

Installation location

•

In buildings

•

Indoors

•

The device is only suitable for assembly at heights ≤ 2 m.

•

In the tamper-proof area

•

Ambient conditions: see Chapter on Technical data

•

In a housing unit or IT cabinet on a DIN rail in accordance (EN 60715)

Electromagnetic fields

Do not install the device in the vicinity of strong electromagnetic fields caused, for example,
by switched-mode power supplies, electric power lines, phase control etc.

5.1.3

Connections

The following connections must be prepared at the device’s installation location:

•

Power supply for the device

•

Lines to door openers and contacts

•

Coaxial cable for the registration unit

The installation lines have to be flush with the surface or be laid in the vandal-proof area.
