Log list
The log is divided into 3 different lists:
1. Events
2. Alarms
3. Battery test (Not used)
4. EIC DM1 Alarms (Alarms from engine controller)
The log list contains up to 150 events, the alarm list contains up to 30 historical alarms
An event is e.g. closing of breaker and starting of engine. An alarm is e.g. overcurrent or high
cooling water temperature.
To enter the log list:
1. Press .
2. Select the list which is needed by using the
and
push-buttons (moves the
highlight of the list) and press the push-button.
8. Check synchronization
Connecting 2 electrical sources without properly synchronizing them upfront will result in heavy
damage to the equipment, and eventually injuries or even death.
Therefore, it is critical to carefully check that the controller readings are in line with the actual
wiring.
Procedure:
1. Disable the breaker closing function to make absolutely sure it will not close (put in
“manual” position, or disconnect the wire for closing
2. Start the engine with the controller in “SEMI-AUTO” mode
3. Set the controller display to the synchronizer “clock”
4. If the generator voltage is right, press the green button on the display to trigger the
breaker closing function
5. Immediately measure the voltage between L1 and L1 over the breaker contact and
look on the synchronizer “clock”
6. When the synchronizer clock shows both sides of the breaker are in phase (pointer
at 12 O’clock) the voltage should be close to zero
7. Because we have disabled the breaker closing, an alarm will occur “GB close
failure” or “MB close failure”. You will need to acknowledge before going to point 7
8. Repeat the measurement for L2 and L3
IMPORTANT:
Also perform this test on ALL breakers before any attempt to synchronize with the mains or the
busbar
Hint: using an analog voltmeter will make the above check much easier, the digital meters have
a refresh time which makes it sometimes difficult to spot the zero volts point.
