7.4 Mode 3 (Automatic firewood)
In this Combustion Mode, the boiler operates with firewood and uses the pellet exclusively for its
automatic firing.
When the firewood furnace door is opened and closed, the pellet burner is activated to fire the
firewood whenever there is a heat demand. Once the firewood load is fired, the pellet burner turns
off. When the firewood load is depleted, the screen displays the symbols
and are displayed
and begin flashing. In the event that the heat demand persists, the pellet burner will not turn on
until there is another opening and closing of the door.
If any firewood load is fired in the furnace, the DualTherm boiler will maintain the installation in the
required installation through the fan modulation. When the temperature in the installation exceeds
the boiler set-point temperature by 6°C, the fan will shut off until its temperature drops to 2°C
below the desired temperature. When the boiler temperature exceeds 70°C, the boiler pump (
BC )
will be activated to distribute the hot water through the installation or, in the case of a buffer, the
buffer load pump (
Bbt ) will be activated to load the buffer. This pump will remain on whenever any
firewood is fired in the furnace. The operation of the boiler with a buffer is described in further
detail in section

of this manual.
To reduce pellet consumption in the process of firing the firewood, open the door, add the entire
firewood load and close the door. Avoid opening and closing the door during the firing process.
If any firewood load is fired, you can add another load without having to fire it. To reload the
firewood, slowly open the door to prevent smoke from escaping, insert the firewood and close the
door.
IMPORTANT: Whenever you load firewood, make sure that the door properly has been
properly closed. When the door is open, the screen displays the symbols and
, which begin flashing.
IMPORTANT: For safety reasons, the door must remain closed during operation and periods of
use. Open only to proceed with the loading of firewood.
NOTE: During the firewood firing process, the screen displays the symbols and , which
begin flashing. Avoid reloading firewood during this period.
NOTE: For automatic firing of the firewood, check that there are pellets in the reserve tank.
