Attaching UIM and Battery
Attach the back cover
After placing the back cover on the FOMA terminal as illustrated above, slide it in the direction
of the arrow and attach it in place.
Make sure there is no gap between the back cover and the FOMA terminal, and slide the
back cover to close it completely.
If it is not completely closed, you may hurt your hand or fingers because it is made of metal.

Attach the battery pack
With the arrow mark facing up, securely
attach the battery pack through the dents
of the FOMA terminal, and then push
the battery pack to the direction B while
pressing it to the direction A.

Insert the UIM
With the golden IC surface downward,
push the UIM slowly to the end while
pressing the surface of it.

About UIM
The UIM is an IC card that
holds your information such as phone
numbers. You cannot use the FOMA
terminal for communications such as
voice/videophone calls, i-mode, or
sending/receiving mail, unless
the UIM is inserted.
Take care not to damage
the IC portion.
Remove the back cover
While pressing the surrounding part of “
”, slide the back
cover (2 mm or more) in the direction of the arrow to unlock it.

When you remove the UIM, pull it
out slowly while sliding.
When you remove the battery
pack, lift it up with the projection of
the battery pack.
