(1) Z-axis section
This section moves spindle up and down with a pulse motor and a ball-bearing leadscrew.
(2) Spindle holder unit
Spindle and its holder are provided in this section. Spindle, which is a high-frequency motor
air spindle, rotates at high speed with a blade attached to its end. The holder secures spindle
so that Z-axis section movement is converted to spindle vertical motion.
(3) Blade damage detection section (option)
The employed sensor monitors the blade condition, performs signal processing, and issues the
blade damage alarm. The sensor is mounted on the wheel cover. The wheel cover performs the
functions of both the blade rotation section safety cover and cutting water supply nozzle.
CAUTION : When rotating the spindle (even in the manual mode), be sure that air is supplied to
the spindle. If the spindle is rotated without air supply, it may gall.
