D2D port configuration
The system will automatically configure the D2D ports based on your selections in the module programming. The white D2D port is
reserved for SmartStart. To ensure proper functionality with SmartStart, it is important that it is selected in the system programming
of the DirectLink application or via the online web tool.
Note
: Both black D2D ports are reserved for the Control Center (antenna) and 8504D Combo Sensor.
Adjusting the Sensors
The Shock and Tilt sensors can be adjusted using any paired 5 button 1way, 2way LED, or 2way LCD remote control.
The system must be disarmed and the ignition off before sensor adjustment can be performed.
Adjusting the sensors using the 1way & 2way LED remote control:
1.
Press
and hold the
F
button until a beep is emitted and the LED turns on solid. Release the
F
button.
2.
Press
the {LOCK} button to enter sensor adjust mode - wait for feedback.
• The siren/horn will emit a single chirp and the IVU LED will begin to flash once to indicate Shock sensor adjust mode.
• The 2way LED remote will also emit a beep and display the Shock sensor level using its LEDs.
3.
Adjust
the Shock sensor by pressing the remotes buttons.
• {LOCK}: Increase level (
more
sensitive) – 2 chirps feedback.
• {UNLOCK}: Decrease level (
less
sensitive) – 1 chirp feedback
• {RS}: Reset level (to mid-level) – 3 chirps feedback
• Maximum/minimum level setting feedback is 1 additional long chirp.
The 2way LED remote will also emit a beep and display the new level using its LEDs.
4.
Testing
the Shock sensor sensitivity during adjustment
• Impact the vehicle exterior several times while increasing severity in a location that will not cause damage.
1 chirp and light flash indicates a warn-away level impact.
2 chirps and light flashes indicates a full trigger level impact.
When the desired shock sensor level is obtained the Tilt sensor can be adjusted, or toggle between the Shock sensor and Tilt
sensor adjust modes anytime by pressing and releasing the IVU Valet button.
When used in conjunction with SmartStart
Disconnect power from the DS4+ before connecting the SmartStart module. Failing to do so could damage main module. To
enable D2D communication between the DS4+ and the SmartStart one of the following actions must be executed:
• SmartStart with
Loops
– The brown loop must be cut.
• SmartStart with
Pigtails
– The gray wire must be connected to a ground source.
Loops
Pigtails
DO NOT
connect the SmartStart 2-pin power harness when using the DS4+. Power and ground will be provided by the D2D
connector on main module. Refer to the SmartStart documentation for further details.
