SINGLE WIRE DOOR LOCK SYSTEMS
Single wire door lock systems
have only recently come in to
the market in the last five
years or so. This type of door
lock system differs from
more traditional wiring
systems as it only uses one
wire to both lock and unlock
the doors. Varying by make
model and even year of
vehicle, this system either
sw12 volts or ground
across a resistor. The value of
the resistor is different for
lock and unlock, allowing the
vehicle to determine which
action is desired. If your
vehicle has this type of door
locking system, it is critical
that you get the wiring
information either faxed to
you or off of our web site
(www.designtech-intl.com). Use the diagram above to guide you through the wiring using two SPDT (Single Pole
Double Throw) 5-pin relays.
