Installing the DECconcentrator 500

This chapter describes how to install the DECconcentrator 500 and how to verify the
operational status.

WARNING

!

The DECconcentrator 500 contains no user-serviceable
parts. During installation, do not open the unit for any
reason. If the concentrator needs repair, only qualified
personnel familiar with safety procedures for electrical
equipment and the DECconcentrator 500 should access
components inside the unit.

WARNING

!

To avoid bodily injury or damage to the equipment, do
not connect the power cord or any other cable until you
are instructed to do so in the following procedures.

Do not apply power to the unit unless all covers are in-
stalled.

The DECconcentrator 500 ships from the factory with the option-card configuration
installed. If you ordered additional option cards, refer to the Option Card Installation
manual.
