Working out a safe Sensor window
You may get the error (Error I) - Pack not found in sensor window. Things to check / try
•
The sensor distance is set correct
•
Increase the size of the extra sensor window. (This will help with debugging but shouldn't be the
solution) If too large you could end up with the wrong pack being detected. See above how to
calculate a safe value

Check the sensor is activating on the labeller board You can do this by checking Led 14 on the
labeller board lights up when the sensor is cut
Troubleshoot
Belt speed 120ppm
Packs per second = 120 / 60 = 2
Time between packs = 1 / 2 = 0.5 seconds = 500ms
Extra Sensor Window = 250 – 330ms
Belt speed 160ppm
Packs per second = 160 / 60 = 2.667
Time between packs = 1 / 2.667 = 0.374 seconds = 374ms
Extra Sensor Window = 187 – 247ms
Belt speed 200ppm
Packs per second = 200 / 60 = 3.334
Time between packs = 1 / 3.334= 0.299 seconds = 299ms
Extra Sensor Window = 150 - 197ms
It is important to get a window which is small enough so you do not label the wrong pack but large enough
you do not cause unnecessary errors. Below is some examples of safe window sizes for different speeds.
The time should then be between half and two thirds of the calculated time between packs.
11. Repeat steps 1 - 10 for any additional labeller.
