4 USING THE PRODUCT
4.14 PUSHING THE COMMODE WHEELCHAIR/PROPELLING IT BY FOOT
Before pushing a user in the chair, the care assis-

it is secure. The locking brakes must be released,
ensuring that the user's feet are resting on the
leg rests. The care assistant can now push the
chair by the backrest.
In order to propel the chair by foot, the user
must be in good enough physical condition to
cope with this.
Make sure that the leg rests have been correctly
swivelled out of the way (Chapter 4.5) so that
you do not catch your feet on them and injure
yourself when propelling the chair by foot.
The product is not suitable for travelling up or
down steep slopes while someone is seated in it.

When travelling up/down slopes or around cor-
ners, care must be taken to prevent sudden
shifts in the user's centre of gravity, e.g. if the
user moves too far forwards/backwards or to the
side. If the user is left alone in the wheelchair, it

The product is not suitable for
overcoming obstacles more than 5 mm high. Pro-
vided that the user is not actually in it, the prod-
uct can be carried over obstacles by gripping the
side elements.

On upward and downward
slopes with a gradient of more than 10°, there is
an increased risk of the product tipping over in
all directions. Slopes of this kind must be navi-
gated without the user seated in the chair.

When pushing the chair
backwards/propelling it backwards with your
feet, there is an increased risk of it turning over.

Please note that body move-
ments shift the centre of gravity, increasing the
risk of the product tipping over.

Never park the wheelchair on
slopes with the user still in it.
