Closing Electronic Combination Locks (with mechanical keylock)
The electronic high-security lock MUST BE ACTIVATED
to maintain protections for UL 291 24-hour Service Level
1 burglary resistance.
The mechanical keylock does NOT provide burglary
resistance protection.
Perform the following steps to close a safe door with an electronic combination
lock and a keylock.
1. Close the door of the safe.
2. Rotate the handle counterclockwise to lock the door.
3. Perform the necessary steps to secure the electronic combination lock.
Refer to the operating guides for the locks listed in Appendix A or the
institution's procedures for information about securing the lock.
4. Insert the key and rotate it counterclockwise 180 degrees to lock the
keylock.
5. Remove the key from the keylock.
6. Verify that the handle does not rotate.
7. Pull
fi
rmly on the door of the safe to con
fi
rm that it is secure.
8. Close the lower fascia.
