DSL602EU User’s Manual 

 

6.4.4.3 IGMP 

The page allows you to enable or disable the IGMP (Internet Group 
Management Protocol) snooping function. IGMP is used to establish the 
multicast groups to forward the multicast packet to the member ports. It can 
very effectively reduce multicast traffic from streaming and other bandwidth 
intensive IP applications.

 

 

 

 

Field Description 
Standard 
Mode 

Select Standard Mode to flood all multicast traffic to all hosts 
on all interfaces when there is no client subscribes to any 
multicast group - even when IGMP snooping is enabled. 

Blocking 
Mode 

Select Blocking Mode to block all multicast data traffic to all 
hosts on all interfaces when there is no client subscription to 
any multicast group.
