6.3.1.B Configuration options only for Host Control Mode
On the Host Tab
Ignore control
(default: checked)
When the Ignore Control checkbox is checked the LCS Pro
when in host mode ignores control characters send to the
unit, only the <CR> after a command is accepted. This can
be useful in case the host uses strange control sequences.
Besides <CR> (= ASCII 13) all signs from ASCII 32 to
ASCII 126 are accepted.
Disable On/Off
(default: unchecked)
When the Disable On/Off checkbox is checked the On/Off
function of the status button on the LCS Pro is disabled in
Host mode. This will have no effect while in manual mode.
Disable responses
(default: unchecked)
When the Disable Responses checkbox is checked no
responses are sent on receiving a command. However, the
LCS Pro unit will still respond to the Get Current Settings
and Get System info button.
Commands, Aliases and Responses
The LCS Pro Control program can also be used to change any of the user definable commands
and any of the (user definable) responses.
For example to activate the LCS Pro immediate, it must receive the default command “a\n”
This can be tested by clicking on the Test button. The command “a” and response “Activated”
can be seen in the Terminal windows. (See image below).
When the Host terminal does not send command “a\n” but f.i. command “aaa\n” then by typing
“aaa\n” in the Alias field of the Activation command, the LCS Pro can be configured to give an
activation command on command “aaa\n”. This can be tested by typing “aaa” in the “Characters
sent to LCS Pro” window followed by pressing the “Enter-key”. (Option “Enable terminal input”
needs to be checked.)
Note: Pressing the Enter-key must follow a command within 250ms.
Use of Carriage Return: \n
When an editable command or response only can be executed after a carriage return then in its
command field or response field on the host tab, this command or response needs to be followed
by a “\n”.
