3.1.4 Power Management Setup
The Power Management Setup allows you to configure your system to
most effectively save energy. If you like to use the soft power down
feature of Windows
95/98, you must enable the Power Management
below. Select Min. Power, Max. Power or User Defined. Either one can
be used as long as it is NOT disabled.
The settings on the screen are for reference only. Your version may not be
identical to this one.

If you want a warning message to pop-up or a warning alarm to
sound when an abnormal condition occurs, you must install the VIA
Hardware Monitoring System utility. This utility is included in the CD
that came with the system board. Refer to the VIA Hardware
Monitoring System section in Chapter 4 of this manual for more
information.
ACPI Function
By default, the ACPI function is disabled. This function should be
enabled only in operating systems that support ACPI.
Power Management
This category allows you to select the type (or degree) of power saving
by changing the length of idle time that elapses before the Standby
mode and Suspend mode are activated.
Disabled
No power management. Disables the Standby and
Suspend modes.
