COM (Serial) Ports
COM 1 and COM 2 can be selected among RS232, RS422 and RS485.
COM 3 to COM 6 are fixed at RS232.
The pin assignments of COM 1 and COM 2 ports will vary according to JP2’s and JP5’s
setting respectively. JP2 and JP5 are used to configure COM port 1 and COM port 2
to pure RS232 or RS232 with power. Refer to “COM 1/COM 2 RS232/Power Select“ in
Chapter 4 for more information.
Please use the BIOS setup utility to configure serial port communication mode for COM 1
and COM 2.
BIOS Setting
Configure the serial ports including the serial communication mode in the Advanced
Configuration (“Super I/O Configuration” submenu) of the BIOS. Refer to Chapter 7 for
more information.
