Award BIOS Setup Utility

Parallel Port Mode

The  options  are  Normal,  EPP,  ECP  and  ECP/EPP. These  apply  to  a

standard  specification  and  will  depend  on  the  type  and  speed  of

your device. Refer to your peripheral’s manual for the best option.

Normal

Allows normal speed operation but in one direction only.

“ECP (Extended Capabilities Port)”

Allows  parallel  port  to  operate  in  bidirectional  mode  and  at  a

speed faster than the normal mode’s data transfer rate.

“EPP  (Enhanced  Parallel  Port)”

Allows bidirectional parallel port operation at maximum speed.

ECP Mode Use DMA

This  is  used  to  select  a  DMA  channel  for  the  parallel  port. The

options are 1 and 3. Default setting: 3.

EPP Mode Select

The options are EPP1.9 and EPP1.7. Default setting: EPP1.7.

Onboard Legacy Audio (AK74-SC/EC/AC)

By  default,  this  field  is  enabled  allowing  you  to  use  the  audio  fea-

tures in DOS mode. The following fields are selectable only when

this field is set to Enabled.

Sound Blaster

This field is used to enable or disable the sound blaster.

SB I/O Base  Address

This field is used to select the sound blaster’s I/O base address.

The options are 220H, 240H, 260H and 280H.

SB IRQ Select

This  field  is  used  to  select  the  sound  blaster’s  IRQ. The  options

are IRQ 5, IRQ 7, IRQ 9 and IRQ 10.
