4. Safety instructions
Start-up and maintenance is to be done only by specialists!
Fuel is extremely flammable and may explode under certain circumstances. Turn off the
device prior to filling the fuel tank.
Do not smoke and avoid open flames and sparks during filling of the fuel tank as well as at the
storage location of the fuel. Fill up the fuel tank only at well-aerated locations and when the
device is turned off.
Wear suitable ear protection when you are working in the vicinity of the equipment!
The installation to a power supply system on site may only be performed by a technician. The
connection must isolate the generator power from the power supply system and correspond to
the relevant regulations and guidelines. In case of improper connection of the generator to a
power supply system on site, electric power may flow back from the generator into the system.
This can cause people working on lines of the public power supply system during a power
outage to suffer an electric shock. In addition, the generator may explode, catch fire or cause
fire upon reconnecting to the power supply.
Warning!
Check the generator prior to every use in order to avoid injuries and material damage.
The generator must be located at least 1 m away from other devices during operation. It may
under no circumstances be operated in closed rooms.
Place the generator in a secure, level position. Do not turn, tip or change the generator's
position while it is working.
The generator may only be operated by trained personnel familiar with the control elements
who are able to turn off the device quickly if necessary.
A repair or adjustment has only to be done by authorised persons.
Keep the generator away from children and pets.
Do not touch any moving parts on the generator during operation.
Improper use may cause the risk of an electrical shock. Never operate the generator with wet
hands.
Never use the generator during rain or snow.
The guarantee is no longer valid by using the unit in moist and salty surroundings with a
relative humidity from 90% (not condensing)
Specific safety instructions for battery
Keep children away from the battery.
Battery acid is very corrosive.
Rinse out acid splashes in the eye immediately with cold water, then turn to a doctor without
delay.
To avoid the danger of explosion, please only use batteries that are allowed for this generator.
Please avoid that batteries get in touch with metal objects and coins. The battery could short-
circuit, discharge, become hot or drain off.
Avoid also in any circumstances short-circuits of the battery!
Do not disassemble batteries and do not apply them in the wrong direction. Also do not
subject them to liquids, humidity, fire or extreme temperatures.
Do not damage batteries mechanically!
The crossed-out waste container on wheels, indicated on the product, means, that electrical
and electronic products, batteries and storage batteries should be disposed at the end of their
function to separate collection. These instructions apply for the European Union. Do not
dispose these products in the unsorted domestic waste, but according to the regulations of the
responsible authority.
