(4) CD synchronized recording (when connected to the UD-M31/M51 and DMD-M31)

Press the ENTER button of the main unit.
• Recording starts automatically.
This unit and the CD will stop automatically
when playback of the CD has ended, as well
as when the disc has been fully recorded
before the CD has finished playing.
✽
When you want to stop recording, press the
2
(stop) button of this unit or CD receiver and the
TOC recording will be performed.
NOTES:
• The CD synchronized recording function will not work if the CD receiver is set to the program mode. In such case,
release the program mode. When in the random play mode or repeat play mode, these modes are released
automatically and the CD synchronized recording mode starts.
• When TOC writing starts, the “ ” indicator flashes. Do not shake the main unit, or unplug the power supply
cord while the TOC is being written. If the data is not recorded property, it will not be possible to play the disc.
• If editing has been performed and the TOC data has not yet been written, “ Write UTOC ” is displayed and the
recording mode cannot be set.
• If you perform synchro recording of CD tracks that are “
Copy Prohibited
”, the tracks are automatically
recorded in the analog mode “
SCMS Ana. Rec
” is displayed. When this happens, the analog recording mode
remains set until the synchro recording mode is canceled. For some CDs, the beginning of the track may remain.
If this happens, erase the beginning of the track.
Press the CD SRS button of this unit to select
the synchro recording mode.
• Each press of the button switches the unit as
described below.
SRS1disc Rec?
: Records one entire
CD.
SRS Make Gp?
: Records one entire
CD and automatically
registers it as one
group.
SRS1Tr Rec?
: Records only the
designated 1 track of
the CD.

A single track can be recorded with the synchro
recording function by selecting the desired
track using the CD skip buttons (

and
9
)
then specifying “
SRS1Tr Rec?
” on the
MD recorder.
✽
Please check that the CD receiver has
completed the TOC reading operation of the
CD before pressing the CD SRS button. The
CD SRS button does not work while the TOC
is being read on the CD receiver.

Turn on the power of CD receiver.
• System’s power will be turn on.
Inset a Recordable MiniDisc that is to be recorded
into the MD insertion slot.
Set the input mode to the source terminal
connected the unit that you want to record.

Press the MULTI REC button of DMD-M31 once
to set the record pause mode.
Press the

(play/pause) button of the CD
receiver or the PLAY button of the Cassette
deck.
• Recording starts automatically.

CD receiver or Cassette deck will stop
automatically when playback of the unit has
ended and MD is set to record pause mode.
✽ Stopping the recording.
Press the

(stop) button of CD receiver or
Cassette Deck to stop the playback of Discs
or cassette tape. This unit set to record pause
mode.
✽ When you want to stop the recording, press
the

(stop) button of MD and the TOC
recording is performed.
