PIN
NAME
FUNCTION
SOT-23-6
1
VIN
Regulator Input. Up to 36V input voltage. At least 1 μ F supply bypass capacitor is recommended.
2
GND
Ground.
3
EN
Shutdown Input. Connect to VIN pin for normal operation.
4
FB
Feedback Pin (adjustable voltage version only). This is used to set the output voltage of the device.
5
BP
Reference-Noise Bypass Pin. Bypass with a low-leakage 0.01 μ F ceramic capacitor for reduced noise at the output."
—
NC
Not Connected.
6
VOUT
Regulator Output. Recommended output capacitor range: 1 μ F to 10 μ F.

Pin function
Pin
Name Description
1
FB
Feedback. An external resistor divider from the output to GND tapped to FB sets the output voltage.
2
GND
Power ground.
3
VIN
Supply voltage. The MP1605 operates from a 2.3V to 5.5V unregulated input. A decoupling capacitor is required to pre-
vent large voltage spikes from appearing at the input.
4
SW
Output switching node. SW is the drain of the internal high-side P-channel MOSFET. Connect the inductor to SW to com-
plete the converter.
5
EN
On/off control.
6
OUT
Output voltage power rail and input sense for the output voltage. Connect the load to OUT. An output capacitor is
required to decrease the output voltage ripple.

3
3
EN
Enable Pin. This pin has an internal pull-down resistor. A logic low reduces the supply current to less than 1 μ A.
Connect to IN for normal operation.
4
1
IN
Regulator Input. Supply voltage can range from 1.6V to 5.5V. Bypass with a 1 μ F capacitor to GND.
‒
4
BP
Reference-Noise Bypass Pin (fixed voltage version only). Bypass with a low-leakage 0.01 μ F ceramic capacitor
for reduced noise at the output. The capacitor is recommended to be placed very close to the pin for high PSRR.
FB
Feedback Pin (adjustable voltage version only). This is used to set the output voltage of the device.
Exposed
Pad
‒
‒
The exposed pad should be connected to a large ground plane to maximize thermal performance.

BOOT
1
9
O
A bootstrap capacitor is required between the BOOT and PH pins. If the voltage on this capacitor
is below the minimum required by the output device, the output is forced to switch off until the
capacitor is refreshed.
COMP
6
7
O This pin is the error-amplifier output and the input to the output switch-current comparator. Con-
nect frequency compensation components to this pin.
EN

8
I This pin is the enable pin. Float the EN pin to enable.

PH
3
2
O The PH pin is the source of the internal high-side power MOSFET.
RT (TPS54335A
and TPS54335-1A)
8
10
O Connect the RT pin to an external timing resistor to adjust the switching frequency of the device.
SS (TPS54336A)
8
10
O The SS pin is the soft-start and tracking pin. An external capacitor connected to this pin sets the
internal voltage-reference rise time. The voltage on this pin overrides the internal reference.
VIN

1
— This pin is the 4.5- to 28-V input supply voltage.
VSENSE
5
6
I This pin is the inverting node of the transconductance (gm) error amplifier.
PowerPAD (SO only)
— For proper operation, connect the GND pin to the exposed thermal pad. This thermal pad should
be connected to any internal PCB ground plane using multiple vias for good thermal perfor-
mance.
