With the heater switched OFF, turn the gas cylinder OFF, remove the back panel of the appliance
and unscrew the handwheel anticlockwise. The gas cylinder can now be removed ready for refilling.
CAUTION: Never disconnect the regulator from the cylinder if the heater is operating. If you smell
gas, turn off the heater and gas cylinder valve immediately, take the appliance outside and con-
tact your service agent, retailer or gas supplier.
Safety devices
the heater you have purchased is fitted with safety devices which come on in the event of malfunc-
tioning, while the appliance is in use. if the pilot light (placed opposite the burner) accidentally
goes out, or if the room is not sufficiently ventilated, the safety device will block the gas flow, caus-
ing the heater to go off. Check the expiry date and state of the rubber tube regularly. If it is past its expiry
date or has been damaged, contact our customer service centre for your nearest Authorised Delonghi
Service Agent.
Avoid bending or constricting the rubber tube when the pressure regulator is connected to the gas cylinder.
Turning the gas heater on
Turn the gas on as previously described, depress the CONTROL SWITCH on top of the heater and hold
down for a few seconds then turn to position (small flame).
Check that the pilot flame has ignited and if not, repeat the operation.
When the pilot light is lit hold the Control switch down for 20-25 seconds (if released before this the centre
panel and pilot light may go out).
After releasing the Control switch you can now regulate the heat by turning the switch to:
• Pos.
minimum output (1400 W)
• Pos.
maximum output (4000 W)
• Pos.
medium output (2600 W)
TURNING THE HEATER OFF
Depress the CONTROL switch and turn to the the vertical position (as shown in fig.5) the centre
panel will remain alight. Now turn the cylinder OFF at the valve.
Your gas heater is fitted with an approved gas regulator and hose. Please regularly inspect them
your damage or wear. Your service agent can renew any worn parts. When connecting the regu-
lator to the cylinder or exchanging cylinders please avoid any twisting of the hose.
