The milk contains large bubbles and
squirts out of the milk spout (D5) or
there is little froth The milk is not cold enough or is not
semi-skimmed. Use skimmed or semi-skimmed milk at refrige-
rator temperature (about 5° C). If the result is
not as you wished, try changing brand of milk.
The froth adjustment dial (D1) is incor-
rectly adjusted. Adjust following the instructions in section
“10. Making cappuccinos and milk-based
cofees”.
The milk container lid (D2) or froth
adjustment dial (D1) are dirty. Clean the milk container lid and dial as de-
scribed in section “16.10 Cleaning the milk
container”.
The hot water/steam connection noz-
zle (A9) is dirty Clean the connection nozzle as described in
section “16.11 Cleaning the hot water/steam
connection nozzle”.
The cup warmer is hot, even though it
has been disabled A number of drinks have been prepared
in rapid succession
The chocolate is not suiciently dense The hot chocolate powder used does
not contain thickener.
Change the type of powder used.
The highest density has not been se-
lected. Select the highest density in the correspon-
ding screen.
The quantities of milk and hot chocola-
te powder are not correct. Follow the instructions in section "11. Making
hot chocolate"
The chocolate is cold or there are
lumps The stirrer (E4) and steam spout (E3)
are not inserted correctly in the funnel
(E2). Insert the stirrer and steam spout on the fun-
nel.
The instructions have not been follo-
wed. Pour the milk/water into the funnel (E2) irst,
followed by the hot chocolate powder.
During cleaning, there are traces of
black on the stirrer (E4) The magnets in the stirrer attract traces
of iron naturally present in the hot cho-
colate powder. Clean as described in section "16.12 Cleaning
the hot chocolate carafe (E)".
