Removing a Battery
CAUTION: Before performing these procedures, turn off the
computer, disconnect it from the electrical outlet, and disconnect
the modem from the telephone wall jack.

Slide the battery lock to the unlock position.

Slide and hold the battery latch releases.

Flip up the battery pack.
4
Pull up on the battery pack to remove it.
Storing a Battery
Remove the battery when you store your computer for an extended period
of time. A battery discharges during prolonged storage. After a long storage
period, recharge the battery fully before you use it. For more information on

Swapping Modules in the Module Bay
You can install optical devices such as a DVD-ROM or a DVD/CD-RW in
the module bay.
NOTICE:
Before swapping modules in the module bay, ensure that the
computer is turned off.
NOTICE:
To prevent damage to module bay devices, place them in a safe, dry
place when they are not installed in the computer. Avoid pressing down on
them or placing heavy objects on top of them.

Slide and hold the module bay latch release.

Carefully pull out the module.

Insert a replacement module into the module bay. The module bay
latch release locks in place.
Playing a CD or Movie
NOTICE:
Do not press down on the drive tray when opening or closing it.
Keep the tray closed when you are not using the drive.
