Troubleshooting Your System

Install the expansion card shroud. See "Installing the Expansion Card
Shroud" on page 75.

Close the system. See "Closing the System" on page 70.

Reconnect the system to the electrical outlet, and turn on the system and
attached peripherals.

Run the appropriate online diagnostic test.
•

If the tests complete successfully, go to step 22.

•

If the tests fail, the processor is faulty.

Turn off the system and attached peripherals, and disconnect the system
from the electrical outlet.

Open the system. See "Opening the System" on page 68.

Remove the expansion card shroud. See "Removing the Expansion Card
Shroud" on page 72.

Remove the processor shroud. See "Removing the Processor Shroud" on
page 72.

Swap processor 1 with processor 2. See "Removing a Processor" on
page 134.

If you have tested each processor and the problem persists, the system
board is faulty.
