Rack Installation Guide 1-9

c. Each mounting bracket has two tabs that fit through the holes in the vertical 

rail. Using the template supplied with the rack kit, position the rail against the 

inner side of the rack's vertical rail so that the uppermost tab on the front 

bracket is 2 U (3.5 inches) above the floor of the rack (or above the compo-

nent in the rack).

d. Secure the front mounting bracket with two 10-32 x 0.5-inch Phillips-head 

screws (see Figure 1-7).

e. Slide the back mounting bracket to increase the slide assembly's length until 

the back mounting-bracket flange fits snugly against the inner side of the 

back vertical rail.

f.

Secure the back mounting bracket with two 10-32 x 0.5-inch Phillips-head 

screws (seeFigure 1-7).

g. Repeat substeps a through e to install the second slide assembly.
