Removing the Optical Drive
1.
Follow the instructions in

Remove the battery (see

Remove the memory module(s) (see
4.
Remove the screw that secures the optical drive to the base cover.
5.
Insert a plastic scribe into the slot on the base cover and push the optical drive out.
6.
Slide the optical drive out of the optical-drive bay.
7.
Lift and pull the optical-drive bezel to remove it from the optical drive.
8.
Remove the two screws that secure the optical-drive bracket to the optical drive.
9.
Remove the optical-drive bracket.
