Palm-rest and keyboard assembly

Removing the palm-rest and keyboard assembly

Prerequisites

1. Follow the procedure in 

Before working inside your computer

2. Remove the 

base cover

.

3. Remove the 

3-cell battery

 or 

4-cell battery

, whichever applicable.

4. Remove the 

memory module

.

5. Remove the 

M.2 2280 solid-state drive

 or 

M.2 2230 solid-state drive

 from M.2 slot one, whichever applicable.

6. Remove the 

M.2 2230 solid-state drive

 from M.2 slot two, if applicable.

7. Remove the 

wireless card

.

8. Remove the 

fan

.

9. Remove the 

coin-cell battery

.

10. Remove the 

I/O board

.

11. Remove the 

system board

.

NOTE:

 The system board can be removed along with the heat sink.

12. Remove the 

power-button with optional fingerprint reader

.

13. Remove the 

power-adapter port

.

14. Remove the 

speakers

.

15. Remove the 

touchpad

.

16. Remove the 

display assembly

.

About this task

After performing the steps in the pre-requisites, you are left with the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
