1. Application / structure
HVI
®
conductors light
are high-voltage-resistant conductors with a voltage controlled coating.
HVI
®
conductors light
are typically used as insulated down conductors in lightning protection systems
to maintain the separation distance in accordance with EN 62305-3. At first, the separation distance
has to be calculated as described in EN 62305-3 standard, Section 6.3. This calculation is based on a
material factor km = 1 for air or km = 0,5 for solid materials. The separation distance calculated has to
be compared with the equivalent separation distance of the
HVI
®
conductor light
(see technical data, Table 1):
