13.6 Calibration procedure for closed-circuit currents
13.6.1 Determining the closed-circuit currents for channels 0...7
Command
Explanation
xt
Turn off display backlight.
sio, 1
Turn on automatic offset calculation.
rc
Display channel number
↔
slot number assignment.
siX, Y
X = 0…7 for channel 0…7
Incrementally decrease the Y value starting from 10 until a current of
[ ]
A
X
I
µ
80
≤
is measured at the corresponding slot S(X). *
ewdX, Y
Write bit value found to EEPROM:
X = 0…7
Y = bit value determined
erda
Verify by reading factor.
* Procedure on error:
If the adjustment condition is not met for a value of 0, but a current within the error band of
[ ]
A
X
I
µ
50
100
±
=
is measured, the value of 0 can be accepted. If the value is outside the error
band, the device is defective. In this case please contact the manufacturer.
13.6.2 Determining the closed-circuit currents for the reference
Command
Explanation
xt
Turn off display backlight.
sio, 1
Turn on automatic offset calculation.
sir,15
Output 15 bits clostd-circuit current to reference.
…
Measure the closed-circuit current at the reference cathode.
If a closed-circuit current of > 80 µA is found, continue calibration.
Otherwise: Cancel calibration procedure.
sir, Y
Incrementally decrease the Y value starting from 30 until a current of
A
I
ref
µ
80
≤
is measured at the reference cathode. *
ewdr, Y
Write bit value found to EEPROM:
Y = bit value determined
erdr
Verify by reading factor.
* Procedure on error:
If the adjustment condition is not met for a value of 0, but a current within the error band of
A
I
ref
µ
50
100
±
=
is measured, the value of 0 can be accepted. If the value is outside the error
band, the device is defective. In this case please contact the manufacturer.
13.6.3 Notes
IMPORTANT:
The closed-circuit current cannot and must not be determined before the current
offsets (Chapters 13.4 and 13.4.2) have been determined.
The reference may not be calibrated until the measured closed-circuit current at the
reference cathode at the 10 bit default value is > 80µA.
The display backlight must be off during calibration.
Calibration will not take effect until the unit has been cycled off and on.
