9. MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
Remove the plug from the socket before carrying out any adjustment, servicing or maintenance.
If the supply cord is damaged, a special cord or assembly available from the manufacturer or its
service agent must replace it.
Always remember to disconnect the plug from the socket before cleaning the paint sprayer or paint container.
It is essential that the paint sprayer is cleaned thoroughly after every use. Failure to clean it will almost
certainly result in blockages and it may not operate when you next come to use it.
WARNING:
Do not clean the parts by holding the machine in flowing water. Never
clean the parts by submerging the machine in water or thinner.
The following action must be taken after every use:
1) After switching off the power to the sprayer at the mains power socket, and removing the
plug, depress the trigger switch (3) again to return the paint remaining in the paint sprayer
back to the paint container (5).
2) Remove the paint container (5) and pour the remaining liquid back into the can.
3) Clean the paint container (5) thoroughly using paint thinner.
4) Put some suitable thinner into the paint container (5) to be sprayed through the paint
sprayer until only clean thinner comes out of the nozzle (7).
5) Detach the gun head (14), by pressing on the unlock button (1), and pulling the gun head away
from the unit.Remove the paint container (5), the suction tube (10) and the filter, and thoroughly
clean them with alcohol, vehicle or banana oil.
6) Loosen and remove the cap nut (9) by rotating in an anti-
clockwise direction, and then remove the air cap (8).
7) Clean the cap nut (9) and air cap (8) with alcohol, vehicle
or banana oil.
8) Use the Nozzle cleaning needle (12) to clear the nozzle (7) .
9) Reassemble the paint sprayer.
10) Clean the outside of the machine with a moist cloth.
9.1 Clean the filter (See Fig.10-1, 10-2):
Remove the filter cover by loosening the four screws anti-
clockwise using a philips head screwdriver (not supplied).
Take the sponge filter out and clean it by water. Re-install the
dry and clean filter back to the tool.
WARNING:
Do not use the sprayer without filter,
otherwise dirt may be sucked in the motor and
cause a failure.
