6. Firmware Upgrade Procedure
Please follow following steps for upgrading the firmware of the MCU-400 Multi-Camera Control
Unit.
Step 1. Please download the latest MCU-400 firmware from the Datavideo official website
Step 2. Please prepare a USB thumb drive and then please format it into the FAT32 file system (If
the firmware update upgrading is failed, please use a new USB thumb drive and then try it again).
Step 3. Please save the downloaded latest firmware, MCU-400.bin, into the root directory of the
USB thumb drive.
Step 4. Please make sure that the power of the MCU-400 is OFF and then please insert the USB
thumb drive into the F/W UPGRADE USB interface which is located on the rear panel of the MCU-
400.
Step 5. Please turn on the power of the MCU-400.
Step 6. There are figures from 1010 to 1012 that will be shown on the LCD for displaying the IRIS
value. After all of those figures are shown, the firmware upgrade procedure is finished successfully.
After the firmware upgrade procedure is finished, the system will reboot automatically.
Step 7. Please turn off the power of the MCU-400 and then please reboot the MCU-400 again.
Note:
1. When the MCU-400 is rebooted, please removed the USB thumb drive in advance before
rebooting the MCU-400.
2. After the MCU-400 is rebooted, please enter the MENU to check whether the firmware version
is the latest version or not. Please reboot the MCU-400 again for self-testing. Please press the
MENU button and then the Firmware Version will be shown on the LCD.
3. The firmware version can be checked by users and the MCU-400 can be powered-on normally
only when the MCU-400 is connected to the BC-100 correctly.
