5.2

Troubleshooting

This section identifies some causes and solutions to specific problems
that may effect the Printer.

1) The Printer prints strange characters or garbage instead of the

label:

Possible cause and solution:

The Printer is in the dump mode, perform a reset by pressing and
releasing the pause and cancel switches simultaneously, or by
turning the Printer off and back on again.

The Printer is set up for 8 data bits but the host PC is set up for 7
data bits, see Section 2.3.2, (or 3.2 if equipped with optional
LCD/Keypad front panel) for instructions.

2) The Printer does not print:

Possible cause and solution:

The media is incorrectly loaded , (see Section 2.5).

The Printhead is incorrectly latched, (see Section 2.5).

If the Direct Thermal Mode is selected, make sure that direct
thermal media is installed, (see Section 3.1 or 3.2).

The Media Sensor is incorrectly adjusted, re-adjust the sensor,
(see Section 5.3.2).

The Media Sensor may be bad, return the Printer for service.
