Operation
Set the pulse speed and energy output using the Selector switch.
Selector switch
Setting
Description
Off
The energizer is off and is not operating.
Battery Test The Indicator lights display battery voltage for 30 seconds before reverting back to
displaying the energizer output voltage. The energizer operates at a Slow speed
(approximately 2.5 seconds between pulses) and Full Energy output. See
Battery test
setting
on page 72 for an explanation of the Indicator lights.
Slow - Day
Fast - Night
The energizer operates at Slow speed (approximately 2.5 seconds between pulses)
during the day and Fast speed (approximately 1.5 seconds between pulses) at night.
When this setting is used, the energizer operates at Full Energy output. This setting is for
animals active during the night and helps to conserve the battery when a battery is being
used to power the energizer.
Fast - Day
Slow - Night
The energizer operates at Fast speed (approximately 1.5 seconds between pulses) during
the day and Slow speed (approximately 2.5 seconds between pulses) at night. When this
setting is used, the energizer operates at Full Energy output. This setting is for animals
active during the day and helps to conserve the battery when a battery is being used to
power the energizer.
Half Energy The energizer pulse delivers only half the full energy output. This setting helps to
conserve the battery when a battery is being used to power the energizer. When this
setting is used, the energizer operates at Fast speed (approximately 1.5 seconds between
pulses).
Full Energy
The energizer pulse delivers the full energy output. When this setting is used, the
energizer operates at Fast speed (approximately 1.5 seconds between pulses).
Reading voltage
The Indicator lights show the voltage at the output terminals of the energizer.
When first connected to the power source, all the Indicator lights illuminate for a period of two seconds.
Thereafter, the Indicator lights display the output voltage at each pulse. This indicates that the energizer is
operating normally.
Note:
The Indicator lights do not display the output voltage for the first 30 seconds if the energizer is set to
Battery Test. See
Battery test setting
on page 72.
Each Indicator light segment represents an increment of approximately 1 kV (1000 V) of output voltage.
For example, if the first four Indicator light segments are illuminated at each pulse, the output voltage is
approximately 4 kV (4000 V).
