Battery life
Your Dash Express has a battery so you can use it even if you do not have
access to external power. The battery charges when you are driving with the
Dash Express connected to the 12v outlet in your car (allow two hours for a
full charge) or when plugged into the wall adapter (allow four hours for a full
charge). When the battery is fully charged, the device will function fully for two
hours. The battery can stay suspended for 72 hours. If you wish to bring your
Dash Express with you when travelling, we recommend you fully charge the
battery before departure.
Suspend/resume
Your Dash Express will automatically resume/suspend when you turn your car
engine on/off. When the car is turned off, the device is not powered off but
suspended. This ensures an easy resume, a fast GPS fix, and quick routing
to your chosen destination. If you would like to manually suspend/resume
the device while it is connected to a power source, or if you have an “always
on” 12v outlet in your car, or press
for a fraction of a second. For normal
everyday use we recommend you suspend/resume rather than turn off/power
down your device.
Turn off/power down your device
You have the option to fully power down your Dash Express. When you power
down all processes are shut down. To turn off/power down:
1. Unplug your device

To ensure the best performance for everyday use it is recommended that you
suspend/resume rather than power down/turn off your device.
