5.  UNINSTALLING AND UPGRADING SPIDER 

 
Should you ever need to 

uninstall

 or 

upgrade

 the Spider software on any of the Spider stations, make sure 

to follow these simple procedures described in this chapter.  
 

Before you begin: 

 

Close all active Spider applications before uninstalling or upgrading them.  Closing 
of other applications is also highly recommended to avoid conflicts or accidental 
data loss. 

 
Make sure to login as 

Spider Operator

 or another user account with full 

administrative rights to the system (

Administrator

 or equivalent). 

 
It is highly recommended you also halt the 

Spider service

 software by the 

SpiderAdmin

 program. To do that, simply click the 

 [Stop] button on the 

SpiderAdmin

 program’s toolbar and confirm your action when prompted.  All 

Spider service

 modules are invisible but very important part of the Spider software 

and must be terminated (stopped) before any attempt to modify or remove them. 

 
If you are about to uninstall the Spider software, refer to section 5.2 on page 41 for further instructions.  
 
The section 5.1 instructs how to upgrade Spider software.

The upgrading procedure described below in step-by-step fashion is not complicated.  Be certain to
