About Cable Sheaves
The Cable Sheaves were removed earlier in the installation; they are put back into place when routing
the Lifting Cables.
Important
: It is possible to reinstall the Cable Sheaves incorrectly . Take your time now and get it
right the first time.
Verify that the Cable Sheaves in the
Crosstube with Large Windows
are oriented so that the
Short Sides of the Sheave Hubs are together, as shown below.
Verify that the Single Cable Sheaves in the Crosstube with Small Windows are oriented so that
the Short Side of the Hub is on top and the Long Side is on the bottom , as shown below.
Before routing the Cables, extend the Piston on the Hydraulic Cylinder.
To extend the Piston
:
1. Remove the Shipping Plug from the Return Port.
The Return Line Port is on the Cylinder end closest to
where the Power Unit will be.
2. Attach an air pressure source to the Return Line Port.
3. Use the air pressure to extend the Hydraulic
Cylinder’s Piston and Retaining Plate.
If the Cylinder does not move, stop using air pressure;
instead, use a pulling device (such as a Come Along
Tool) to extend the Piston and Retaining Plate; be
care not to damage the Piston.
4. Reinstall the Shipping Plug to the Return Line Port.
