Sensor/armband
The sensor is carried like a wristwatch. It can
be carried on either the left or the right wrist.
The armband must be strapped tightly in order to ensure
the sensor follows the movements of the wrist.
Only one finger is allowed to slip in between the armband and the skin.
The sensor is not dependent on pointing in a specific direction.
It can be mounted pointing towards the fingers or towards the arm, and it
can be mounted on the top side as well as
on the underside of the wrist.
The sensor must be charged before use. See instructions on charging the sensor.
Charging the sensor
A built-in rechargeable battery powers the sensor. It
needs recharging once every 24 hours.
The sensor is charged using the included micro
USB charger.
Take off the sensor before charging.
Connect the charger to a 220V outlet and mount
the plug into the sensor
’s connector,
placed at the wide end of the sensor shell. A light
in the sensor flashes during charging.
If the battery is completely empty, the charge time will be 1 hour 15 minutes. The
battery is not harmed by long time charging or by charging before the battery is
empty. The sensor may stay connected to the adapter until next use.
When the sensor is removed from the adapter plug, it will automatically restart after
few seconds. It does not need to be activated manually and it will remain working as
long as the battery still has power. In case the sensor has not been in use for some
time, typically more than 24 hours, it must be recharged before use.
During charging of the sensor the control unit will show the text CHARGING SENSOR
in the display. When the sensor is fully charged, the control unit will show the text OK.
Further charging will not be needed.
The Epi-Care®free alarm will not function, if the sensor runs out of power.
