VLT with APU Panels
To provide for indoor environments where the drive may be subjected to dripping
Water or large amounts of dirt, the VLT can be supplied with a NEMA 12 enclosure.
If the drive is to be mounted outdoors, NEMA 3R and NEMA 12 enclosures can be
supplied.
Because the drive relies on the ambient air for cooling, it is important to observe the
limitations on ambient air temperature and elevation. Contact the service
department if you think that the mounting location of the drive compromises its
ability to provide long term, reliable operation.
For severe environments drive APU panels can be built to accommodate this
requirement. These are the NEMA 4 and 4X. The NEMA 4 is a sealed enclosure
capable of being washed down. This type of enclosure depending on the size may
require additional cooling. This is provided by adding an external cooling device.
The NEMA 4x is the same as the NEMA 4 except is enclosed in stainless steel.
