Withdraw the sample tube from the ground by raising the carriage to the top
of its travel.
Disconnect the sample tube from the machine by undoing the sample tube
connector.
The borehole can be advanced by adding 1.00m long drill rods / casing.
3.8
DYNAMIC PROBING
To carry out Dynamic Probing it is necessary to change the weight and drop
height.
Remove front weight guard then undo the weight guide rod retaining plates
on top of the carriage and the bolts on top of the weight. Lift up the left hand
weight guide rod (looking from in front of the mast) swing out the weight and
separate the top section of the weight. Undo the lifting bracket behind the
weight, rotate bracket through 180 degrees so that fork is now at the top and
relocate screws. Then bolt the Dynamic Probe Bracket on to the top of the
bottom weight. Push weight back into operating position and relocate the left
hand guide rod. Then pull up the right hand guide sufficiently to allow the top
section of eight to be removed. Relocate right hand guide rod and reattach
the guide rod retaining plates. Replace guard.
Machine is now set for dynamic probing with a 50kg weight and 500mm drop.
Dynamic Probing should be carried out by the same method as soil sampling
3.7 above.
3.9
CONCRETE CORING
To core concrete raise carriage to allow the coring unit to be attached to the
sample tube connector
.
Connect the hydraulic hoses from the weight motor (Drg PST2010F200) to
the quick connects on the coring unit. Lower carriage until core bit is in
contact with the ground. Use the weight control lever to operate the coring
rotation.
When coring you must ensure that the rig is level and that the leg screws are
adjusted correctly.
3.10
REMOTE DRILLING
With mast in vertical drilling position on solid ground turn off engine.
Disconnect the four hydraulic hose quick connects on rig body. Remove the 2
locking pins at base of mast (Drg PST2000/F/200). Start engine and reverse
track undercarriage to separate mast assembly from main rig body.
Wheel mast assembly to required drilling position, then attach rear support
legs. Position remote control stand at drilling position.
