Mounting
The DAS-300 E is designed to be installed and operated in a standard 19" rack in a dust-
controlled server room.
NOTE
The guide rails and chassis slides included in delivery fit into
many but not all 19" racks.
If necessary, contact the rack manufacturer to obtain suitable
rails or load-bearing shelves.
6.1
Safety requirements
Observe the following safety requirements when installing a DAS-300 E:
z
The rack must be secured against tipping over during installation and in normal use.
z
The rack must be filled from the bottom up and emptied from the top down.
z
The rack must have a safe electrical distribution system and an overcurrent protection
for all integrated units. The rack must not be overloaded by the total number of units
installed. Pay attention to the nameplates of each unit.
z
The electrical distribution system must provide a reliable earth for each unit and the
rack.
z
Each power supply in each unit has an earth leakage current of 1.5 mA maximum at 264
V AC. The design of the electrical distribution system must take into consideration the
total earth leakage current from all the power supplies in all the units. The rack will
require labelling with “HIGH LEAKAGE CURRENT. Earth connection essential before
connecting supply“.
z
The rack when configured with the units must meet the safety requirements of UL 60950
and IEC 60950.
6.2
Installation requirements
Observe the following installation requirements when installing a DAS-300 E:
z
The system must be operated with low pressure rear exhaust installation (back pressure
not to exceed 5 pascals, 0.5 mm water gauge).
z
The maximum allowable ambient temperature of 40 °C (104 °F) with two power supply
modules installed must not be exceeded.
z
The rack must have a minimum load-carrying capacity of „number of DAS-303/DAS-
300E x 32kg).
z
Minimum installation depth of 70 cm (excludes rear cabling).
z
Minimum gap of 25 mm (1 inch) clearance between the DAS-300 E front side and rack
front door.
z
Minimum gap of 50 mm (2 inches) clearance between the DAS-300 E rear side and rack
rear door.
