OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Please find below a detailed explanation of how to use
the machine correctly. Afterwards, the standard working
procedure is described, with a list of the steps that have
to be carried out in succession.
1. ON/OFF switch.
2. Centrifuge Breakaway Torque Control
3. Melting Start key.
4. Coil Raise key.
5. Automatic Casting-Centrifugation key and
centrifugation time setting.
6. Centrifugation Start key.
7. Lid locked ideogram.
8. Melting/Centrifugation Stop and Coil Lower key.
9. Programmable Value Increment key.
10. Programmable Value Decrement key.
11. FUNC key; no action takes place if this key is
individually depressed.
12. REV key; no action takes place if this key is
individually depressed.
Note: the simultaneous pressure of the FUNC and
REV keys for 5 seconds gives the operator the
possibility to access some configuration parameters
and to change them. However, such change
produces an alteration in the machine operation.
Therefore, this combination of keys must never be
used! Should this happen nevertheless due to an
error, avoid pressing any key as, after a few
seconds, the instrument is automatically reset to
the normal operating mode.

A. Multifunction Led indicators:
- melting power rating,
- melting stabilisation time,
- centrifugation time.
B. Centrifugation time scale in seconds.
C. Melting stabilisation time scale in seconds.
D. Arm positioning Led indicator; it starts blinking when
the centrifuge arm is correctly positioned, thus
enabling the coil to raise. This led keeps lit with fixed
light when the coil is up.
E. Melting Led indicator: it keeps lit with fixed light
during the melting process. It starts blinking when
the lid opening breaks the melting process or a tem-
perature control alarm is raised and when the
melting time has to be entered.
F. Automatic mode Led indicator: it keeps lit with fixed
light during the entering of the related parameters
or during the machine running in the Automatic
mode. It blinks for five seconds before the centrifuge
is started in the Automatic mode.
G. Centrifugation Led indicator: it keeps lit with fixed
light during the centrifuge operation. It starts blinking
when the centrifugation time has to be entered.
H. Lid locked Led indicator: it keeps lit with fixed light as
long as the lid is held locked for safety reasons, i.e.
when during the centrifuge arm rotation. It turns off
after the centrifuge arm has come to a complete stop.
I. STOP Led indicator: it’s lit with fixed light when the
machine is idle, i.e. when neither melting nor
centrifugation is in progress.
J. PV display (Left.): indicates the metal temperature in
the crucible. A few seconds after the machine is
switched on, the 800 °C temperature reading is
displayed, that is. the lowest working temperature limit.
K. SP display (Right.): indicates the temperature
setting. It turns on when the machine is switched
on and it displays the actual temperature setting.
