passenger

The

seat belt warning lamp in the

instrument display is a reminder that all

vehicle occupants must wear their seat belts

correctly.
After each start, the

7

seat belt warning

lamp flashes for six seconds.

In addition, there may be a warning tone.

The belt warning goes out as soon as the

doors are closed and the driver and front-

passenger fasten their seat belts.

The belt warning comes on:

if the vehicle exceeds a speed of 12 mph

(20 km/h) once and neither the driver nor

the front passenger have fastened their

seat belt

if the driver or front-passenger unfasten

their seat belt while the vehicle is moving

A deployed air bag can increase the level of

protection provided to the vehicle occupant.
