Key Features
Ketone is a waste product produced when the body is using fat as an
energy source as a result of inadequate insulin or inadequate calorie
intake. Ketones are acids, and can cause damage or death to cells.
Excess ketones accumulate in the blood and are excreted in the urine.
Ketone Warning
When your test result is equal to or higher
than 13.3mmol/L (240 mg/dL), “Ketone”
symbol appears on the screen.
It indicates there is a possibility of
ketoacidosis or ketone accumulation
especially if you are Type 1 diabetes.
When Ketone warning shows up, please test again. If the symbol
appears often, please promptly consult your physician or medical
professional.
