Install the outdoor unit away from direct sea winds.

If the outdoor unit is exposed to direct sea winds, install a
windbreaker.
▪ Height of windbreaker≥1.5×height of outdoor unit
▪ Mind the service space requirements when installing the
windbreaker.

The outdoor unit is designed for outdoor installation only, and for the
following ambient temperatures:
Cooling mode 10~43°C
Heating mode –25~25°C
6.2.2 Additional installation site requirements
of the outdoor unit in cold climates
Protect the outdoor unit against direct snowfall and take care that the
outdoor unit is NEVER snowed up.

In any case, provide at least 300 mm of free space below the unit.
Additionally, make sure the unit is positioned at least 100 mm above
the maximum expected level of snow. See
"7.3 Mounting the
outdoor unit" on page 31 for more details.
In heavy snowfall areas it is very important to select an installation
site where the snow will NOT affect the unit. If lateral snowfall is
possible, make sure that the heat exchanger coil is NOT affected by
the snow. If necessary, install a snow cover or shed and a pedestal.
6.2.3 Installation site requirements of the
indoor unit
INFORMATION
Also read the precautions and requirements in the
"General safety precautions" chapter.
▪ The indoor unit is designed for indoor installation only and for
ambient temperatures ranging from 5~35°C.
▪ Mind the following measurements guidelines:
Maximum refrigerant piping length between indoor
unit and outdoor unit 30 m
Minimum refrigerant piping length between indoor
unit and outdoor unit 3 m
Maximum height difference between indoor unit and
outdoor unit 20 m
▪ Mind the following spacing installation guidelines:
>500
>10 >150

▪ The foundation must be strong enough to bear the weight of the
unit. Take the weight of the unit with a domestic hot water tank full
of water into account.
Make sure, in the event of a water leak, water cannot cause any
damage to the installation space and surroundings.
Do NOT install the unit in places such as:
▪ In places where a mineral oil mist, spray or vapour may be
present in the atmosphere. Plastic parts may deteriorate and fall
off or cause water leakage.
▪ Sound sensitive areas (e.g. near a bedroom), so that the
operation noise will cause no trouble.
▪ In places with high humidity (max. RH=85%), for example a
bathroom.
▪ In places where frost is possible. Ambient temperature around the
indoor unit must be >5°C.
6.2.4 Installation site requirements of the
domestic hot water tank kit
INFORMATION
The domestic hot water tank kit is mounted into the indoor
unit. The use of tank kit EKVSU260A extends the height of
the indoor unit by 190 mm.
