3.1. Extra property
HOT START
– automatic increase of current by ignition (only Varin 1305E).
ARC FORCE
– increase of welding current (electrode does not stick)
ANTI STICKING
– automatic disconnection of welding source after electrode sticking or short-circuit
4. WELDING BY TIG METHOD
Connect the torch directly to the gas bottle (look picture),
put the mass cable plug in plus socket on machine and fasten the clamps on a material
put torch plug in minus socket on machine
use potentiometer to adjust the strength of a current adequate to thickness of Wolfram electrode
and thickness of material to be welded
before starting to weld open the valve on the gas bottle
start the arc with leaning the torch (ceramic nozzle) to material (position 1)
slowly move the torch in right-angle position until wolfram electrode touches the material (position
2)
slowly lean torch away to position 1 until arc ignition (position 3)
to break the arc just move torch away from material

Note: In case of connecting the welding machine to the Power-generator to the following:
• Rated power of Power-generator must be at least 30% higher than the nominal power welding machine
• Welding machine should be turned
off
at boot time unit
Otherwise, the warranty does not apply!
6. MAINTENANCE
By normal conditions very little care is needed for VARIN welding machine.
But you have to consider following actions:
use compressed air to clean inner parts of machine
once per year make control on cable connections with secondary windings and connection with
shielding gas
Time of servise assurance is period in which we assure servis, spare parts and accessories for normal
functioning of machine. Time of servise assurance is 8 yeasr nd it starts with purchading date.
7. POSSIBLE MALFUNCTIONS AND MENDING ACTIONS
Failure
Possible cause
Solution
After turning
machine on, none
of the functions
work
Some electrical cables may be bad
Check circuit voltage 230 V in the socket
and make sure the circuit is ok
Careful
–
HIGH VOLTAGE!
Broken fuse in network circuit
Change the fuse and check its power
Main switch damaged or broken
Change the switch
Damaged electronic card.
Change electronic card (service procedure)
When welding,
machine just
stoped welding
Thermostat has turned machine off
because of overheating. Fan is
cooling the machine, orange ligh is
on.
Wait until machine cools down. Thermostat
will automatically turn on the machine on
–
orange light turns off
DO NOT TURN THE MACHINE OFF
WHEN COOLING!
Bad or breaking arc
Bad connection between mass
clamp and material
Fasten the clamp more hardly
Too weak welding current
Increase welding current by turning the knob
to the right
