Disassembly & Assembly
3.
Remove cover (5).
4.
Remove cowl plate (6). Disconnect brake tubes (7)
and parking cables from drive axle.
5.
Disconnect accel cable (8).
6.
Disconnect wires (9) from solenoid valves and wire
from transmission temperature sender.
7.
Disconnect two cooling hoses (10).
8.
Loosen bolts (11) and remove drive axle mounting
bracket (12).
9.
Support the engine with a hoist and tooling (B).
10.
Support transaxle assembly with a floor jack and
wood block.
11.
Remove housing cover.
Remove bolts (13) that hold the converter to the
flywheel.
NOTE :
At this point, make a final check to be sure
all removals and disconnections have been made
from the transaxle.
12.
Remove bolts (14) and nuts from the converter
housing.
13.
Use the floor jack to move transaxle assembly
from beneath the machine.
14.
Install transaxle in the reverse order of removal.
15.
Bleed the brake system.
Refer to the topic ÒBrake System Air removalÓ in
the Testing and Adjusting section of Vehicle
Systems.
16.
Fill all fluids to their correct levels.
