The Dual Cooling System
Your refrigerator has two separate cooling systems. One
system cools the refrigerator and another system cools the
freezer. This prevents air and odors in the refrigerator and
freezer compartments from mixing.
Due to the dual system, refrigerator cooling is faster.
Additionally, power is saved because defrosting is
performed individually.
The temperature sensor is located in the refrigerator
section. It is on the right wall, next to a shelf, so be careful
not to have any food or containers block it.

Folding Door Seal
A door seal fits and folds lengthwise between the seam
of the refrigerator doors. This prevents cold air inside the
refrigerator from escaping.
The seal automatically folds inward when the left refrig-
erator door is open. The seal lays flat with the aid of the
door catch while shutting the door.
Do not try to move it by hand.
Vacation Storage Prep
Dacor recommends disconnecting the water supply if
the refrigerator will be unused for a period of time.
Remove any food that can spoil; also clean the refrig-
erator before leaving on vacation.
Energy Saving Tips
Do not leave the refrigerator doors open for a long time.
Do not put hot food or drinks in your refrigerator.
Do not overload the refrigerator or allow food/containers
to touch the temperature sensor in the fresh food
compartment. The ability to cool will decrease when
the air circulation inside is hindered by obstructing the
sensor.
Store your food in closed containers.
Increase storage amounts in the freezer compartment
by removing the freezer bin.
Thawing frozen food in the refrigerator compartment will
both provide energy savings and preserve the quality of
the food.
IMPORTANT
For best cooling performance, do not allow anything
to block the
temperature sensor
in the refrigerator
compartment.
Initial Use
Before using your refrigerator for the first time, please be
sure to complete the following:
Clean the interior of the refrigerator as recommended in
the Maintenance and Cleaning" section. Check that the
inside is dry before operation.
Run the refrigerator without putting any food inside for 6
hours. Keep the door closed during this period.
NOTE: When the door is opened the interior illumination
will turn on.
IMPORTANT
When the compressor starts up you will hear a noise.
Liquids and gases sealed within the refrigeration system
may also create noise, even if the compressor is not
running. This is part of normal operation.
IMPORTANT
Front edges of the refrigerator may feel warm. This is
normal. The warmth is designed to avoid condensation.
